Ernest “NICO” Cebrian is Executive Director and Chief Instructor
for IAEVIP Protection Services & Training Inc.
and its following Divisions;

• Nightlife Protection Institute (NPI)
• Officers Training Academy (OTA)

He is also the founder of Bouncers Against Drunk Driving (tm)
a voluntary Association creating awareness at licensed establishments on the dangers of Drinking & Driving
He is a Security Specialist and is well known in the Security and Public law Enforcement field. Though many consider him an Expert in his field he likes to refer to himself as a Specialist therefore leaving him the option of always learning and being open minded to new changes and challenges in the field of Security & Law Enforcement.
 
He has been in the private & public Law Enforcement Field for almost 30 years.
After holding several security jobs after High School and being the youngest  armed security officer assigned to  retail stores owned by Marlow’s Dept stores in Brooklyn during the famous 1977 “Black Out“, he joined the U.S. Army and was assigned to the 42 Military Police Unit. There he was assigned to various duties including escorting commanding officers to certain functions and affairs. After fulfilling his obligation to his Command, he continued to serve in the National Guard and embarked in the field of Investigation in civilian life. In his investigation career he became a lead investigator supervising other investigators in the field and later assisted in public investigations for NY STATE.

He then went on to become Sgt. of Public Safety for NYC as a peace officer where he was assigned to patrol and desk Sgt. Duties. He was in command of up to 15 peace officers during his shift and special events. Later he was appointed as a Squad leader for the Armed Emergency Response Team. (Safe Team) where he was acting Lt. with up to 10 Sgts under his command.

He has been trained and certified in Dignitary Protection and Civil Disturbance by the NYPD’s Intelligence Div. and the NY State Dept. He is a graduate of the F.B.I. academy in which he was certified in Defensive Tactics and Classroom Instruction. Cebrian has had the pleasure of being trained in Executive Protection by individuals like John Artimik, Robert W, Kobetz (EPI) and Tony Scotti. He has had the Honor of assisting in the protection of NYC mayor’s, Heads of State and various Dignitaries. Cebrian has also worked as a security driver for various Dignitaries for the U.S. Mission to the United Nations. He has overseen Protection Details in Latin America and Overseas.
 
In the private Sector Cebrian has worked in the Nightclub Security Industry for almost 30 years, and has instructed many of its professionals. He continues to escort and accompany certain celebrities and CEO’s of various companies to special Events.     

He has had the honor of working for Clarkstown Finest Security under Chief Kevin Kilduff & Lt. Robert Donaldson of the Clarkstown Police Dept in the protection of National Hockey League Pres. Gary Bettman.

One of his yearly obligations since 2006 is to secure the famous Oscars(tm) that are given to celebrities at the Academy Awards (tm). In 2008 he was appointed Security Manager for the protection of the OSCARS(tm) overseeing a round the clock security and protection team during the showing of the OSCARS(tm)

Cebrian is a Certified Instructor in many Law Enforcement subjects, and has been a law enforcement Instructor for 16 yrs. Cebrian has trained individuals in public law enforcement & private security.He has been a member of ASLET and is now a Charter Member of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA), considered one of the finest Trainers Association in the Country. Cebrian has also had the privilege of working together with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Dept. in its psychiatric forensic unit (jail unit). Again in the psychiatric system he was assigned to the psychiatric response team, responding to deescalate out of control psychiatric patients.
Whether in the private or public sector Cebrian has always been determined to make the world a safer place to live in.

Nightlife Protection

NICO as he is known in the Nightlife Protection Field has worked in Clubs lounges and bars throughout NYC and beyond. His first bar was in South Carolina in 1978 where he would work part time instead of going home while on weekend pass from the Military. His training program for Bouncers is considered one of a kind in the Nightlife Protection Industry

Martial Arts & Defensive Tactics

Cebrian started his Martial Arts Training at the age of 16. There really was no other alternative when you grow up in the Bronx and have to defend yourself.
He received his third Dan in Tae Kwon Do at the age 21. After realizing he needed additional training that would help in the street and not in tournaments he started experimenting with different arts such as Escrima, Muy Thai, Sayoc Kali, Realistic Defensive Tactics and many others. He continues to learn and adapt new systems into his law Enforcement Training, and truly believes in the meaning of Bruce Lee’s Concepts™
